Install skl
To install the latest release, run:
curl -fsSL https://tryskl.fyi/install.sh | sh
The script writes ~/.local/bin/skl, or ~/.local/bin/skl.exe on Windows Git Bash. It supports Linux x86_64 and aarch64, macOS on Intel and Apple silicon, and Windows x86_64. It does not edit .bashrc, .zshrc, or fish configuration.
In a terminal, the script then runs skl setup, which asks whether to log in and whether to import skills from home agent directories. Both default to yes. Answer n to skip a step. You can run skl login and skl init later.
If ~/.local/bin is not on your PATH, the script prints the line to add:
export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH"
Add that line to your shell configuration yourself.
Install the binary only
To skip the setup prompts, for example in a script or on a CI runner, pass --non-interactive:
curl -fsSL https://tryskl.fyi/install.sh | sh -s -- --non-interactive
Setting CI or SKL_NON_INTERACTIVE has the same effect. A pipe or a non-terminal stdout also installs the binary only. See Installer for every flag and variable.
Install to another directory
Set SKL_INSTALL_DIR before running the script:
curl -fsSL https://tryskl.fyi/install.sh | SKL_INSTALL_DIR=/opt/bin sh
Build from source
Clone x0ba/skl and run:
cargo install --path crates/cli
Debug builds default api_base to http://localhost:8787. Release builds default to https://api.tryskl.fyi. Override either with --api-base or API_BASE.
Check the install
skl --version
skl doctor
skl doctor prints the config and data paths skl uses on this machine. Nothing else is needed before skl create or skl use.
